Premier League club West Ham United have sealed the transfer of highly rated Spanish international Pablo Fornals.
The 23-year-old joins the Hammers from Spanish La Liga club Villarreal in a deal reported to be around €27m.
Pablo Fornals was previously a transfer target for the Gunners who were strongly linked with the Spaniard during the winter transfer window earlier this year.
Arsenal were unable to make a concrete move for Pablo Fornals in January due to a lack of funds and they ended up with Denis Suarez who has since gone back to parent club Barcelona after his loan spell in North London.
Pablo Fornals has signed a five-year contract with West Ham United who have finally made a breakthrough in their quest to sign a new midfielder.
The Hammers initially wanted Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes only for them to be rebuffed by the Spanish champions.
They made two separate bids of £18m and £20m for Portuguese international Andre Gomes but Barcelona were holding out for £25m for the player who impressed a great deal while he was on loan at fellow Premier League club Everton.
The Toffees are still pursuing a permanent move for Andre Gomes amidst the interest from the likes of reigning European champions Liverpool and some Spanish clubs.
