Ajax Amsterdam defender Matthijs De Ligt has talked about his transfer conversation with Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo.
The highly talented defender talked about his chat with Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo shortly after the UEFA Nations League final played at the Estadio Dragao in Portugal.
Both players were on the opposing side as Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal won the inaugural UEFA Nations League title via a 1-0 win over the Netherlands in their final clash on Sunday night.
According to De Ligt, Cristiano Ronaldo asked him if he will come to Juventus this summer and that he just smiled at him without giving any response.
Matthijs De Ligt is a hot cake amongst the heavyweights of European football including Manchester United.
The Red Devils have made an offer of £75m for him in addition to weekly wages of £350,000 but they still trail both Spanish champions Barcelona and French giants Paris Saint Germain (PSG) in the race to sign him.
Matthijs De Ligt has been in superb form for Ajax Amsterdam since he broke into the first team.
The 19-year-old was made the Ajax Amsterdam captain at the age of 18 and senior club officials were instantly rewarded after he led the Dutch giants to their first domestic double in over a decade during the just concluded season.
