Spanish La Liga champions Barcelona are reportedly desperate to offload defender Samuel Umtiti during this summer’s transfer window.
According to Spanish newspaper AS, Barcelona are on a serious trail of Matthijs De Ligt who will require a big chunk of their transfer budget for this summer.
It was further revealed that senior club officials are keen to offload French World Cup winner Umtiti to offset part of the cost for the proposed transfer of Ajax Amsterdam defender De Ligt despite the fact that the Barcelona defender is reluctant to leave the club this summer.

Arsenal have been linked with the £50m-rated Samuel Umtiti in their quest to sign a new centre back but the former Lyon defender is only interested in seeing out the final four years of his existing contract with the Nou Camp giants.
For Matthijs De Ligt, Barcelona will have to fend off the strong interest of other European clubs if they want to sign the highly rated Dutch international who has been turning heads since he made his first-team debut for boyhood club Ajax Amsterdam.
Apart from Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona, others like French Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint Germain (PSG), Manchester City and Manchester United are also interested in him.
