Premier League giants Manchester United have reportedly made a big bid for Italian Serie A defender Kalidou Koulibaly in their quest to make a new centre back signing this summer.
The Red Devils want to sign a quality centre back as they try to solve the defensive problems of the just-concluded campaign which saw them concede more than half a century of goals in just 38 games.
According to Italian transfer news portal Corriere dello Sport, Manchester United have made a bid of around £84m for him.
It was revealed that Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis won’t even consider a possible sale unless an £89m bid was lodged for the player widely regarded as one of the best centre backs in world football.

The 27-year-old scored two goals in 48 appearances for Napoli during the just concluded season as he helped his team to second place on the Italian Serie A table.
Koulibaly and Napoli finished 11 points behind champions Juventus at the end of the season.
In addition, he helped his Italian Serie A club to 19 clean sheets in those 48 appearances.
