Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos made a dramatic u-turn earlier this week on his decision to leave the Spanish La Liga giants this summer.
The 33-year-old had told senior Real Madrid officials that he would like to leave the club this summer amidst a concrete offer from the Chinese Super League only for him to change his mind.
Sergio Ramos announced that he will stay at Real Madrid beyond this summer at a press conference on Thursday evening.
According to Spanish newspaper Marca, Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane was instrumental in the change in decision.

It was revealed that the French football legend persuaded his skipper to extend his 14-year stay at the club.
Sergio Ramos has been at Real Madrid since he joined the club from fellow Spanish top flight outfit Sevilla in 2005.
He has two years left on his current deal with the Los Merengues.
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez had told Sergio Ramos that he won’t be able to leave the club for free this summer amidst the interest from China and European clubs like Manchester United and Paris Saint Germain (PSG).
Manchester United were close to signing Sergio Ramos in 2015 but he decided to stay at Real Madrid till date.
