Why Man United are interested in Real Betis defender Junior Firpo

English Premier League outfit Manchester United are reported to be linked with the signature of Spanish La Liga outfit Real Betis defender Junior Firpo as they seek to land him in the coming summer transfer window.

Spanish Newspaper AS claims that the Red Devils have been tipped to land the star defender for a fee of £26 million as manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is already having him in plans for the coming season.

Last season was a difficult one for Man United in terms of their defence and that is obviously a major focus for the Red Devils boss who seeks to land new players for the revolting of his team.

Junior Firpo is known to be a versatile player who has featured at left and wing-back for Real Betis this season and that is needed by manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who only seeks for quality at the club.

The star defender scored three goals and provided four assists for the La Liga outfit this season which is a major boost to his career as he only made his first-team debut in February 2018.

However, the Red Devils boss wants add more quality to his team by making good use of the summer transfer window.

United States national team manager Gregg Berhalter has named a 23-man squad for the upcoming Concacaf Nations League clash with Canada and Cuba.

Chelsea star Christian Pulisic was conspicuously absent from the list of players released because of injury.

In-form Pulisic will miss the US games as a result of the hip injury sustained during the last Premier League match at home to Crystal Palace.

Christian Pulisic scored one of the goals as Chelsea beat fellow London side Crystal Palace 2-0 at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea took the lead through topscorer Tammy Abraham before Christian Pulisic added a second goal with both strikes coming during the second half of the game.

Christian Pulisic is one of the in-form forwards in European football after netting five goals in his last three league games and he would be a big loss for the United States.

Toronto midfielder Michael Bradley will also miss the US Games as he was left out of the squad named as a result of the ankle injury sustained during the MLS Cup final loss to Seattle Sounders.

Seattle Sounders beat Toronto 3-1 to win the MLS Cup.

The United States will face Canada in Orlando on Friday before traveling to play Cuba in Georgetown.

Manchester United To Battle Eight Clubs For Record-breaking Teenager

Manchester United are set to battle it out with eight European giants for the services of young starlet Eduardo Camavinga who is having a great season with Ligue 1 side Rennes.

Despite his young age, the Angola-eligible midfielder is a regular starter in Rennes’ first-team squad and he is the first and youngest player to make an assist in Ligue 1 at the age of 16.

Camavinga clocked 17 last weekend but his young age isn’t stopping top clubs from targeting a move for his services in the summer.

According to roots, the Red Devils have set their sights on the Frenchman’s service but they will need to defeat host of clubs who are also in eyeing a possible swoop for the highly-rated youngster.

French media outlet L’Equipe reveal that Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are actively involved in the pursuit of the 17-year-old attacking midfielder and the two Spanish side are also joined by other Premier League and Bundesliga sides.

It was claimed that Real Madrid, Tottenham, Arsenal, Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are all looking at the possibility of beating United and Barcelona to the player’s signature.

Internationally, £26m-rated Camavingo is eligible to feature for France having stayed in the European country for 15 years.

He’s also eligible to feature for Angola and DR Congo but hasn’t feature for any of the three countries thus far.

Former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso is on the managerial shortlist at five-time European champions Bayern Munich according to the latest media reports emanating from Germany.

Bayern Munich are looking for a permanent manager and are expected to make an appointment before the next game scheduled to take place after the international break.

According to the Daily Star, Liverpool legend Xabi Alonso is on the managerial shortlist alongside the likes of Paris Saint Germain (PSG) manager Thomas Tuchel and ex-Juventus and AC Milan boss Maximiliano Allegri.

Bayern Munich have been without a permanent manager since Niko Kovac was shown the way out at the end of last month on the bag of the big loss to Europa League campaigners Eintracht Frankfurt.

The German champions were beaten 5-1 by their hosts with ten men after Jerome Boateng was given his marching orders.

Niko Kovac spent just more than one season at Bayern Munich following his appointment last summer.

In his first year, the ex-Eintracht Frankfurt boss led Bayern Munich to the double.

He won the league title for the seventh straight season as well as the German Cup via the 3-0 victory over RB Leipzig in the final.

PSV Eindhoven striker Donyell Malen has grown to become a key player for the former Dutch champions since he returned to the Netherlands two years ago.

The performance of the Ex-Arsenal starlet has attracted the interest of Spanish champions Barcelona who are looking for a long-term replacement for Luis Suarez.

Donyell Malen is a Dutch international and he came through the youth academy at Eredivisie champions Ajax Amsterdam before leaving for the Premier League.

Malen has scored 16 goals in 19 games in all competitions for Europa League campaigners PSV Eindhoven.

Barcelona are on the search for the replacement for Luis Suarez who is gradually winding down on his career.

Luis Suarez would be 33 at the start of the New Year and the Uruguayan has scored six league goals this season.

Manchester United approached Jurgen Klopp over the possibility of replacing David Moyes in 2014 but then Borussia Dortmund manager ignored the Red Devils due to his wife’s advice.

According to former Liverpool defender Phil Thompson, the former Borussia Dortmund manager had the intention of accepting United’s offer but he surprisingly changed his mind after discussing with his wife.

While speaking with TV2, Thompson revealed that Klopp told him how his wife convinced him to ignore the Red Devils coaching job because she didn’t feel good about the deal.

Reigning European champions Liverpool are reportedly plotting a swap deal for Bournemouth winger Ryan Fraser.

This is according to TalkSports which revealed that talks are at an advanced stage that will see Ryan Fraser join Liverpool.

Scottish international Ryan Fraser has a little over six months left on his contract at Bournemouth and the South Coast club wants to sell him during the January transfer window.

Ryan Fraser is worth around £10m to £15m at the moment and Liverpool are in talks to sign him in January with Harry Wilson going the other way.

Liverpool winger Harry Wilson is on loan at Bournemouth and has impressed a great deal after netting four times in the Premier League including the last league game which ended in a 2-1 defeat at the home of Newcastle United.

Harry Wilson was on loan at Derby County last season where he scored 18 goals for the Rams as the Welsh international almost led the English Championship club back to the Premier League before the 2-1 defeat to the playoff final.

On his part, Ryan Fraser (14 assists) was the second most assist provider in the Premier League last season behind new Real Madrid signing Eden Hazard who had 16 assists for Chelsea.

Man Utd To Bid For These Two Players After Impressive Performances

Manchester United’s scouts are happy with the performance they’ve seen from two of their transfer targets Kalvin Phillips and Ben Whites who both play for Championship side Leeds United.

Phillips is a versatile youngster who can perfectly feature as a defensive midfielder or a center-back and he has been wonderful for the Elland Road outfits this season.

As for Ben White, the Englishman completed a loan deal from Brighton prior to the start of the campaign as he was unable to get first-team actions ahead of Lewis Dunk, Shane Duffy and Leon Balogun.

The media outlet went on to suggest that Brighton are hoping to pocket £20m from White’s signature while Leeds United are yet to place a demand on Phillips who recently signed a new four-year contract extension.
