English Premier League outfit Manchester United have received a boost ahead of the summer transfer window after it was reported by Marca that their star target and Ajax central defender Matthijs de Ligt does not consider the Champions League miss as a barrier to joining the club.

Matthijs de Ligt has been linked to a number of clubs including Liverpool and Barcelona but the Red Devils seem to be more desperate and keen in the chase for the star player and that is why they have stepped forward with a bid.

However, the latest report claims that the Red Devils are close to securing the service of the Ajax player as they have submitted an offer that may be too difficult for him to turn down.

Marca also reported that Matthijs de Ligt has informed his camp of his willingness to leave Ajax for a new challenge elsewhere.

Meanwhile, Matthijs de Ligt had made it clear that he is looking for a challenge where he can develop while it has been suggested that the English Premier League is the best for the star player.

It is, therefore, yet to be seen if Ajax will agree to a deal with Manchester United as that could be the only barrier.
