Premier League champions Manchester City are closing in on a big money move for Juventus defender Joao Cancelo.
This is according to the widespread reports coming out of the media in Portugal.
It was revealed that the Citizens are on the verge of announcing a deal for Portuguese international right-back Joao Cancelo.
According to the publication from Portuguese media portal Record, Manchester City are closing in on a €60m for Joao Cancelo.
The Juventus player has previously been linked with a move to Manchester United but it seems like the Red Devils will miss out on his transfer to city rivals Manchester City.
Manchester United have made the signing of a new right-back the top transfer priority this summer and Joao Cancelo was one of the several right-backs being considered by the Old Trafford outfit.
Antonio Valencia, Diogo Dalot and Ashley Young were the right-backs at Manchester United during the recently concluded league season but they all failed to establish themselves in that position.
On their part, Manchester City have a more stable right-back in Three Lions of England star Kyle Walker but manager Pep Guardiola is keen to provide more competition for him in the shape of the aforementioned Joao Cancelo.
