Scottish Premiership giants Aberdeen are reportedly plotting a free transfer move for Manchester United striker James Wilson.
According to The Sun, Aberdeen want to sign the Manchester United Academy graduate after his loan spell at the club this season.
James Wilson spent the whole of the season on loan at Aberdeen.
He joined the Scottish club from Premier League giants Manchester United at the start of the season.
The Manchester United striker scored three goals for Aberdeen during his loan spell and the Scottish giants want to sign him on a permanent deal.
His contract at Manchester United expires this summer and the Red Devils have no plans to offer him a new deal.
Manchester United are ready to let him leave the club for free this summer meaning that Aberdeen can sign him as a free agent.
The 23-year-old has been out of the club during a lean period which saw the Red Devils miss out on Champions League football for next season.
Manchester United were the sixth best team at the end of the Premier League season thereby missing out on Europe’s premier club competition.
Only the first four teams (Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur) qualified for Champions League football next season.
