French giants Paris Saint Germain (PSG) are reportedly eyeing a big swoop for Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea next summer rather than this summer.
Manchester United are in serious danger of losing De Gea this summer after the Spanish international turned down several offers of a contract extension despite the fact that he had just one year left on his current contract at the Theatre of Dreams.
The 28-year-old initially had few months left on his current Manchester United deal before the club activated the extra year clause in his contract to take him till the summer of 2020.
PSG had been touted as the shot stopper’s next destination after Manchester United and Atletico Madrid in a deal that could be as high as £60m but the French giants are at the mercy of the Financial Fairplay.
According to the publication from the stables of The Express, it was revealed that PSG have told De Gea not to sign a new deal at Manchester United to enable him move to the club on a free transfer at the end of the new season.
David De Gea was promised a sizeable sign-on fee upon joining PSG on a free transfer next summer.
