Manchester United players will have to take a massive pay cut on their wages as from next season according to widespread reports emanating from the media in the United Kingdom.

According to Sky Sports, the Manchester United players will take pay cut up to 25% on their wages after failing to qualify for Champions League football.

The Red Devils will play in the Europa League and not the Champions League as they are not able to make the top four of the Premier League this season.

Manchester United blew the opportunity to fight for a top-four finish on the last day of the Premier League this season following the 1-1 draw with bottom club Huddersfield Town.

The Terriers were able to put spanner in the works of the Red Devils’ quest to finish in the Champions League places.

Manchester United will play host to Cardiff City on the final day of this Premier League season with nothing to play for except pride.

The Red Devils will carry out a big surgery on their playing squad this summer after an average season which saw them end this campaign without a trophy and without Champions League football for next season.

For now, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will oversee the rebuilding job at the club.
