Premier League giants Manchester United are ready to solve their right-back problems by making a raid on Italian champions Juventus for one of their players according to reports emanating from the media in Italy.
The Red Devils have identified the right side of their defence as an area to strengthen ahead of this summer’s transfer window.
According to the report from popular Italian transfer news portal TransferMercatoWeb (TMW), Manchester United are ready to offer £42m and defender Matteo Darmian for Juventus defender Joao Cancelo.
Portuguese defender Joao Cancelo is just in his first season at Juventus following his move from Spanish La Liga giants Valencia.
Juventus have previously shown interest in Darmian who has become a fringe player at Manchester United in recent seasons.
He has made just six appearances for Manchester United in the Premier League this term to further underline that his days at Old Trafford are numbered.
The Italian international is a utility player that can play as a left-back, a centre back or as a right-back but he has failed to settle well at Manchester United.
Ashley Young and Diogo Dalot have played more games than Matteo Darmian at the right side of the Manchester United defence and none of the three players have been convincing.
