Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has admitted that the Gunners will have to rely on Chelsea to drop points if they want to make the top four at the end of this Premier League season.
Ozil and Arsenal blew the opportunity to have their top-four destiny in their hands following the run of four defeats in the last five league games including three successive defeats.
German World Cup winner Ozil talked about the reliance on London rivals Chelsea to drop points in a chat with media outlet DAZN DACH.
The Blues presently occupy fourth spot on the Premier League table and they are two points ahead of Arsenal in fifth place with just two games left to play this season.
Chelsea face a home game against Watford on Sunday afternoon before their final game of the season at Leicester City, while the Gunners play Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday evening before the last game of the season at Burnley.
Arsenal would be hoping that Chelsea drop points either against Watford or Leicester City though third-placed Tottenham Hotspur can still be caught by the Gunners thus providing the North London giants with another avenue to make the top four places on the Premier League at the end of the season.
Spurs are four points ahead of the Gunners having played one game more and they face a tough final game at home to Everton.
