Not Enough: Ex-Man Utd Star On Target In MLS Defeat

Former Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic was on target for his team but he was powerless as the fell to a 3-2 defeat away from home.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic plays his club football for Major League Soccer (MLS) team LA Galaxy at the moment.

The Swedish football legend joined LA Galaxy from Manchester United in March 2018.

He scored a goal and also provided an assist for LA Galaxy but it was not enough as they fell to a 3-2 defeat at the hands of hosts New York Red Bulls on Saturday night.

The hosts took the lead through Daniel Royer before Zlatan Ibrahimovic set up Uriel Atunna to score the equalizer for LA Galaxy.

The former Juventus and Ajax Amsterdam player then added a second goal for LA Galaxy to give his team a 2-1 lead at the halftime interval.

Ibrahimovic and LA Galaxy were unable to hold on to that lead in the second half after the hosts scored two goals to win the game.

Marc Rzatkowski scored the equalizer just before the hour mark before substitute Derrick Etienne scored the winning goal with the help of VAR.

It was the first defeat for Zlatan Ibrahimovic and his LA Galaxy team in seven games but they can bounce back from that loss when they visit the Columbus Crew on Wednesday.
