Outgoing European champions Real Madrid are prepared to wait for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen to become a free agent before signing him.
This is according to the report from the stables of English news portal The Sun.
Christian Eriksen has been linked with a move away from Tottenham Hotspur this summer having failed to sign a contract extension with the North London club.
The Danish international midfielder has one year left on his current deal with Tottenham Hotspur and it’s looking like the player won’t sign a new contract with the club.
Real Madrid want to sign Eriksen this summer but they have concluded plans to wait until his contract expires in the summer of 2020 if Spurs refuse to do business with them.
Recent reports claimed that Spurs have slapped a €150m transfer fee on Christian Eriksen despite the fact that he has just one year left to run on his contract.
Tottenham Hotspur have a big decision to make on Christian Eriksen this summer especially if he fails to sign an extension.
They will have to sell him when the transfer window reopens this summer or risk losing him for free next summer which is what Real Madrid are targeting with the Spanish club reluctant to meet the €150m transfer fee demand from Spurs.
