Virgil and Messi

A lot has been said on the much-anticipated clash of the Titans between Spanish La Liga outfit Barcelona and the English Premier League outfit Liverpool later on Wednesday in the Champions League semi-finals.

The Reds team have not won a title in a number of years and same goes to manager Jurgen Klopp since he took charge of the club.

This has been seen as the best chance for the team to secure a win to be able to maintain their stance as a top club after missing out of the title last season to Real Madrid.

Both teams have won the Champions League title five times and there is a contest to know who will be the first to win it the sixth time.

However, it has been claimed that the clash is beyond the two clubs as it is also a game to judge who deserves to be handed the Ballon’d’ Or award for this season.

Liverpool’s Virgil Van Dijk and Barcelona’s Lionel Messi are both in the contest and it is suggested that the game will hand them both the opportunity of testing each other’s quality to determine who the best is and who deserves to be handed the award.
