Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane won’t leave the club when the transfer window reopens in the summer according to his manager Zinedine Zidane.
The Spanish La Liga giants recently reappointed French football legend Zidane as their manager and he’s expected to oversee a major rebuilding job at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu this summer.
Zidane wants the aforementioned Varane to be a part of the rebuilding job at the club.
In one of his latest interviews via Goal, the Real Madrid manager told reporters that French World Cup winner Varane won’t leave the club at the end of the current season.
Raphael Varane had a phenomenal 2018 after he won a third straight Champions League title with Real Madrid under the guidance of Zidane before winning the 2018 FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia with the French national team.
Varane and France won the tournament via a 4-2 win over surprise finalists Croatia.
It has been a contrasting 2019 for Varane and Real Madrid who have had to endure a poor season.
Real Madrid had crashed out of all the competitions as at the start of last month.
Varane has been heavily linked with a transfer to Manchester United with the player keen to try out a new challenge but it looks like Zidane and Real Madrid want to retain his services for next season.
