Former Manchester United coach Rene Muelensteen has explained the reason behind the recent poor form shown by star player Paul Pogba.
In an interview with Training Ground Guru, Dutchman Muelensteen talked about Paul Pogba and his recent struggles.
Rene Muelensteen was an assistant manager at Manchester United during the managerial era of legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
According to him, Paul Pogba has not had the best of impacts on the Manchester United team in recent weeks due to the quality of midfield partners.
The French midfielder misses the likes of N’Golo Kante, Andrea Pirlo, and Arturo Vidal according to Muelensteen.
Pogba won the 2018 FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia alongside Chelsea star Kante in the French national team midfield.
The Frenchman also played with both Pirlo and Vidal in the Juventus team that reached the 2015 Champions League final.
Paul Pogba has scored 13 goals and also provided nine assists for Manchester United in the Premier League this season and he was recently named in the PFA Team of the Season.
Pogba was the only non-Manchester City or non-Liverpool player on the PFA Team of the Year list.
He has struggled in recent games for Manchester United amidst strong transfer links with Spanish giants Real Madrid who will sign new players this summer as part of their rebuilding job.
