North London giants Tottenham Hotspur are increasingly confident that star midfielder Christian Eriksen will agree to a new deal at the club to ward off the interest of the big European sides like Real Madrid and Manchester United.

Danish international Eriksen has just a year left on his current deal at Tottenham Hotspur.

Both parties have been in discussion over a new deal but the situation is far from being resolved.

According to the publication from Goal, Eriksen is holding out for more money that will be a significant increment on his £70,000 per week.

Christian Eriksen signed for Spurs from Dutch Eredivisie club and he has grown to become a key player for the North London giants.

He will face his former club in the last four of the Champions League.

Spurs and Ajax Amsterdam have recorded major scalps in the Champions League this season.

Tottenham Hotspur will play in the Champions League final for the first time in their history if they manage to see off a youthful Ajax Amsterdam team.

Spurs saw off Premier League champions Manchester City via the away goals rule in their quarterfinal clash while Ajax Amsterdam defeated Juventus 2-1 away from home to seal a 3-2 aggregate win which propelled them to the last four of the Champions League.
