Paris Saint Germain (PSG) forward Neymar won’t be leaving the club when the transfer window reopens this summer according to his father and agent Neymar Santos Snr.

In a chat with French news platform RMC Sport, the player’s father told reporters that his son will stay at Parc des Princes beyond this summer.

Neymar became the most expensive player in the history of world football at the start of last season when he left Spanish champions Barcelona to join PSG.

The French giants activated the release clause in his then contract at Barcelona to sign him in a transfer reported to be around €222m.

The 27-year-old has been linked with a return back to Spain with the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Premier League giants Manchester United have also been mentioned as a likely destination for him but his father insists that Neymar will stay at PSG.

Neymar is recovering from a metatarsal injury sustained earlier this year at the moment.

The Brazilian superstar scored 20 goals and also provided six assists for PSG in 23 games in all competitions before his unfortunate injury.

In his absence, PSG were surprisingly dumped out of the Champions League by Manchester United on the away goals rule after losing their home leg 3-1 despite winning the first leg 2-0 away from home.
