Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha has called out a Twitter user who subjected him to racial abuse following his matchwinning exploits at the weekend.

In a Twitter post now deleted by the former Manchester United player, the Ivorian international player showed that he was called a diving monkey by the Twitter user.

Zaha proved to be the hero for Crystal Palace at the weekend after he won a penalty for the Eagles during their Premier League game at Newcastle United.

The Ivorian attacker was brought down by Newcastle United defender DeAndre Yedlin in the box and Eagles midfielder Luka Milivojevic made no mistake from the resulting penalty.

The penalty goal from Luka Milivojevic in the second half proved to be the only goal of the game as Crystal Palace have all but secured their league status with a 1-0 away win over Newcastle United.

The victory moved the Eagles 11 points clear of the relegation zone and they are up one place to 12th ahead of South Coast club Bournemouth.

Racist incidents have become rampant in recent weeks and that has prompted the Premier League to launch a campaign against the growing anomaly.

Players like Raheem Sterling, Danny Rose and many more have been racially abused in recent weeks.
