Borussia Dortmund attacker Marco Reus has revealed that former German national teammate Mesut Ozil is the best player he has played with during his career.
Marco Reus and Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil were teammates for the German national team until the latter quit the team shortly after last summer’s FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia.
Germany had a World Cup to forget after they were dumped out of the competition in the first round via a bottom place finish in Group F.
Marco Reus talked about Mesut Ozil during an interview with Copa 90.
Mesut Ozil has not enjoyed the best of seasons at Arsenal since the appointment of Spanish tactician Unai Emery as manager.
Unai Emery replaced Arsene Wenger at the club after the Frenchman ended his 22-year stay in North London.
Ozil has been dropped by the Arsenal manager for big games and away games this season but he has been able to force his way back into the Gunners starting XI.
The German is the highest paid player at Arsenal and that status has not always transmitted to success on the pitch under Unai Emery until the past few games.
He was named the man-of-the-match on Monday night when Arsenal beat Newcastle United 2-0 at home to secure the third spot.
