Juventus manager Maximiliano Allegri has revealed that it would be difficult for star player Cristiano Ronaldo to recover from injury in time for the Champions League clash with Dutch Eredivisie giants Ajax Amsterdam.
Ajax meet with Juventus over two legs later this month in what’s a Champions League quarterfinal tie and Cristiano Ronaldo could miss those games especially the first leg.
Ajax host Juventus at the Amsterdam Arena in the first leg of their last 16 tie next week before the return leg in Italy on the 17th of April.
In his pre-match press conference on Monday morning ahead of the Italian Serie A game with Cagliari, Allegri told reporters that it would be difficult for Ronaldo to feature in the first leg.
The former Manchester United player will certainly sit out the Cagliari game on Tuesday evening and possibly the huge clash with AC Milan at the weekend.
Ronaldo sustained a thigh injury during the international break and that could rule him out of the Ajax game.
The 34-year-old has been in sensational form for Juventus since joining them for a club-record deal of around €100m.
He has scored 24 goals in all competitions for the Old Lady in his first campaign at the club.
