Former Arsenal forward Carlos Vela was in superb form in the MLS (Major League Soccer) on Saturday night after he scored an impressive treble for his team.

Mexican international Vela plays his club football for American side Los Angeles FC (LAFC) in the MLS at the moment.

He scored a hattrick for Los Angeles FC in their 5-0 rout of San Jose Earthquakes at home.

Steven Beitashour and Diego Rossi were also on target for Los Angeles FC in the convincing win over San Jose Earthquakes.

Carlos Vela is now the leading scorer in the MLS after his treble on Saturday took his goal rally to six goals in the first five games of the new MLS season.

The Mexican attacker has become a key player for his team in their run to the top of the Western Conference in the MLS.

He has thrived under the guidance of former United States of America manager Bob Bradley who’s in charge of Los Angeles FC.

Arsenal fans would be hoping that their players can draw some form of inspiration from one of the club’s former players ahead of the Newcastle United clash on Monday night.

The Gunners need to win against the Magpies to get back into the top four on the Premier League table.
