Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk is reportedly in talks with Man United target Matthijs de Ligt, as hinted by former player Dimitar Berbatov over a prospective move to the English Premier League.
The Red Devils have been on the radar of the 19-year-old who has been impressing both for his Ajax club and the Netherlands national team. There are suggestions that they will make efforts to land him in this summer transfer window.
However, it is claimed that the former Southampton defender is making efforts to have the star defender storm the English Premier League to play for Liverpool so they can be able to continue their national team partnership.
Although there are lots of competitions for Matthijs de Ligt as Man City, Arsenal, Tottenham and Barcelona are also keen on him, it is claimed that the Spanish La Liga giants are in a better position to land him.
Matthijs de Ligt is rated £60 million due to his quality as a young player and the number of interests lined up for his signature.
Berbatov is, therefore, claiming that Virgil Van Dijk would be giving Matthijs de Ligt the positives and negatives of playing for other clubs in the EPL other than his Liverpool team.
