Italian Serie A giants Juventus are sweating over the fitness of star player Cristiano Ronaldo and he’s an early doubt for their Champions League quarterfinal tie with Dutch Eredivisie giants Ajax Amsterdam.
Ronaldo suffered a hamstring injury for Portugal during their Euro 2020 qualifier against Serbia.
The former Manchester United and Real Madrid player lasted for half an hour before he was subbed off as a result of the injury as Portugal were held to a second successive draw at the start of their qualifying campaign for Euro 2020 via a 1-1 with the Serbians.
Ronaldo thereafter said that the injury would rule him out of action for one or two weeks.
The Portuguese national team skipper has started treatment on the injury as he underwent physiotherapy on Thursday.
Further tests won’t take place until the start of next week when the extent of the injury will be clearer.
For now, Ronaldo will miss the next two games for Juventus starting from the Serie A game against Empoli on Saturday before the league match with Cagliari on Tuesday.
The 34-year-old is a doubt for the big league clash with AC Milan on the 6th of April while the main target for Juventus is the first leg clash with Ajax Amsterdam on April 10.
