Monaco Plotting Permanent Transfer For Arsenal Target

French Ligue 1 giants AS Monaco are eyeing a permanent deal for winger Gelson Martins when the transfer window reopens in the summer.
Gelson Martins has been able to resurrect his career at Monaco following his loan transfer from Spanish La Liga giants Atletico Madrid.
The Portuguese international player joined Monaco from Atletico Madrid on a short-term loan deal until this summer.
This is according to the publication from popular media portal Goal which claimed that Monaco are ready to turn his loan deal into a permanent transfer.
Arsenal were interested in the loan signing of Gelson Martins before he joined AS Monaco from Spanish club Atletico Madrid.
The Portuguese winger has scored three goals in his last seven games for Monaco and his goal contributions have led the principality club away from the relegation zone.
It was revealed that AS Monaco are ready to spend as much as £30m to sign Gelson Martins permanently.
Gelson Martins had a frustrating few months at Atletico Madrid whom he joined after cancelling his contract with Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon.
Sporting Lisbon are demanding for a compensation fee of £17m from Atletico Madrid but the Spaniards are not willing to yield to their demands.
It was revealed that they will offer Luciano Vietto in a bid to sort out the situation.
Vietto is presently on loan at Premier League club Fulham.
