Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku will miss the upcoming Euro 2020 game with Cyprus because of injury.
The unavailability of the Belgian international player for the Cyprus game was confirmed by the official Twitter handle of the Belgian national team.
Lukaku has been battling with a foot injury that prompted him to miss Thursday night’s home clash with Russia in the opening game of their Euro 2020 qualifiers.
Without the Manchester United striker, Belgium beat Russia 3-1 to start their Euro 2020 qualifiers on a winning note.
Chelsea star Hazard was the star of the show as he scored a brace in addition to the opening goal from Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans.
In the absence of Lukaku, Chelsea loanee Michy Batshuayi started the game and the former Marseille and Borussia Dortmund striker is expected to continue to deputise for the injured Lukaku when Belgium travel to Cyprus to take on the Cypriot senior team in the second match of this qualifying series for Euro 2020.
Romelu Lukaku has already missed two games for club and country and will almost certainly miss the third game against Cyprus.
His last appearance came for Manchester United in their 2-0 loss at top-four rivals Arsenal.
The 25-year-old initially missed the FA Cup exit at the hands of Wolverhampton Wanderers (2-1) before missing the Russia game.
