Atletico Win Free Transfer Race To Sign Arsenal Target

Spanish La Liga giants Atletico Madrid have won the race to sign FC Porto midfielder Hector Herrera according to reports emanating from the media in Spain.
Trusted Spanish newspaper AS claim that the Rojiblancos have won the free transfer race to sign the Mexican international player.
Hector Herrera is expected to leave Portuguese champions, FC Porto, this summer when his current deal at the club expires.
He has scored six goals in 38 appearances for FC Porto this season in all competitions.
North London giants Arsenal and Italian Serie A club AC Milan were also in the running for Hector Herrera but it seems like Atletico Madrid have won the race to sign him.
Hector Herrera was part of the Mexico team that shocked then world champions Germany at last summer’s FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia.
Mexico finished second in Group F behind leaders Sweden and ahead of both South Korea and bottom team Germany before they were beaten by fellow American national Brazil in the last 16.
It was revealed that Atletico Madrid have offered Hector Herrera a five-year deal.
The Mexican midfielder would have been a good replacement for Aaron Ramsey at Arsenal.
Ramsey will leave Arsenal this summer upon the expiration of his contract.
The 28-year-old will join Italian Serie A champions Juventus this summer.
