Arsenal To Reignite Interest In La Liga Defender
Premier League giants Arsenal will revive their interest in Getafe defender Djene Dakonam in their bid to sign a new centre back ahead of next season.
This is according to the publication from trusted Spanish newspaper which claimed that the Gunners are ready to reignite their interest in the 27-year-old centre back.
Djene Dakonam has previously been linked with a move to North London especially during the winter transfer window but the defender opted to stay with Getafe.
Transfer rumours about him and Arsenal have soared in the last few hours after Gunners boss Unai Emery was in attendance as his Getafe target played out an impressive goalless draw at the home of Valencia.
Djene Dakonam was impressive at the Mestalla as they came away with a point that was enough to preserve their place in the top four of the Spanish La Liga table alongside leaders Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid and at the expense of more illustrious opponents like Sevilla, Deportivo Alaves and Valencia.
Arsenal have made the signing of a new centre back their top priority ahead of this summer’s transfer window.
Apart from the centre back position, the Gunners also want to strengthen the left-back and right-wing positions.
