Arsenal defender Sead Kolasinac has revealed that the Gunners can’t afford another defeat in the first leg of their Europa League campaign.

According to him, the competition is fierce and the Gunners might not be able to overturn first leg defeats moving forward.

Arsenal had turn both their last 32 and last 16 ties around after first leg defeats.

In his recent interview via Goal, the Bosnia and Herzegovina international warned his teammates about the danger of not starting well when hostilities resume in the Europa League.

Kolasinac and Arsenal lost the first leg of their last 32 tie with BATE Borisov FC of Belarus by a lone goal but they were able to overturn it via a 3-0 home win in the second leg to give the Gunners a 3-1 aggregate win over their Belarusian opponents.

In their last 16 tie with French club Rennes, Arsenal won 4-3 on aggregate after the Gunners were able to overturn a 3-1 defeat from the first leg.

Arsenal thrashed Rennes 3-0 in the second leg on Thursday to progress to the quarterfinals where they will meet Napoli.

The Gunners will host the first leg at the Emirates Stadium on the 11th of April before the return leg in Italy on April 18.
