England international James Milner has hinted that he is getting tired of the near-victory syndrome with his Liverpool team as he hopes to win a trophy later this season.
The Merseyside outfit are now second in the Premier League table as well as in the quarter-final of the UEFA Champions League which gives them hope of landing a trophy this season. But much of the attention has been given to the Premier League.
It would be recalled that manager Jurgen Klopp led his team to last season’s UEFA Champions League final but they were defeated by the Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid. Also, the Merseyside outfit finished second in the Premier League behind Man City that same season.
However, James Milner is saying that the near-success syndrome must be ended the year as he hopes to lift a trophy at the end of the season.
He stated that Liverpool have not won a title in a while, most especially the Premier League which is now the major target of his team.
The last time Liverpool won a Premier League title was 29 years ago while the German manager Jurgen Klopp has not won a trophy since he took over as Red Devils boss some years back.
