Arsenal manager Unai Emery is sure that his side can do something special in the Europa League after seeing off French club Rennes in their last 16 tie.

Arsenal were on the brink of elimination after losing the first leg 3-1 in France but Unai Emery and his players were able to turn the tie around in their favour.

The Gunners booked their spot in the quarterfinals after beating Rennes 3-0 at home thereby advancing to the next stage via a 4-3 aggregate win.

In his post-match thoughts, Unai Emery told reporters that his players can do something special in the Europa League this season.

Arsenal can qualify for the Champions League by winning the Europa League or by finishing in fourth spot at least at the end of this Premier League season.

The Gunners took a big step towards realising their target of winning the Europa League with the 3-0 victory over Rennes.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was the star of the show as he scored twice and also provided an assist for the Gunners.

He scored the first goal within the first five minutes before providing the second goal for the impressive Ainsley Maitland-Niles.

Aubameyang added a third goal in the 72ND minute to propel the Gunners into the next stage of the competition.
