Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen was left stunned after his team suffered a surprising collapse against relegation battlers Southampton in their Premier League clash at the weekend.
Danish international star Eriksen told the club’s official website that he was shocked at their second-half performance against the home team having enjoyed a dominant first-half display during the league game played at the St. Mary’s Stadium.
Tottenham Hotspur took the first lead through Harry Kane before the Saints scored two second goals through Jan Valery and James Ward-Prowse to overturn the deficit for a 2-1 win.
Christian Eriksen and Tottenham Hotspur have had a wretched run in the league in the past few weeks with just one point from the last 12 points available.
Ex-Ajax Amsterdam player Christian Eriksen has been criticised during the poor run amidst transfer rumours linking him with a move away from the club.
He has been touted as a possible transfer addition for Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid and Premier League club Manchester United with less than 18 months left on his current deal with Tottenham Hotspur.
If he fails to sign a new deal in the summer, North London giants Tottenham Hotspur might need to make a decision on the possibility of selling him.
