Italian Serie A champions Juventus will be hoping for an inspirational performance from star player Cristiano Ronaldo when they face Atletico Madrid in the second leg of their last 16 tie at the Juventus Stadium in Turin with the Italians trailing 2-0 from the first leg.

Former Manchester United superstar Ronaldo has a very good record against Spanish La Liga club Atletico Madrid while he was a Real Madrid player.

Cristiano Ronaldo signed for Real Madrid from Manchester United in 2009 for a then world-record deal of £80m and he went on to become the Los Merengues’ record goalscorer.

During his time at Real Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo scored 22 goals in 31 games against Atletico Madrid.

He has only scored more against Sevilla (27) and Getafe (23).

Ronaldo scored 12 away goals against Atletico Madrid but he was unable to find the back of the net in the first leg at the Wanda Metropolitano in Madrid.

Jose Gimenez and Diego Godin scored in the second half to give Atletico Madrid a 2-0 win over Juventus.

Ronaldo has 10 home goals against Atletico Madrid and Juventus fans would be hoping for him to score more goals when they host the Spaniards in their second leg meeting at the Juventus Stadium on Tuesday night.
