Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Ince has praised striker Romelu Lukaku for the fighting spirit shown by the Belgian international following his recent good form for the Red Devils.

Paul Ince told Paddy Power that Lukaku was moving towards the exit door before managing to resurrect his career at Manchester United.

Romelu Lukaku has scored six goals in his last three games for the Red Devils in all competitions.

The former West Brom and Everton player began the good form with two goals in the 3-1 win over Crystal Palace in the Red Devils’ penultimate league game.

Lukaku went on to added a second successive brace as Manchester United came from behind to beat Southampton 3-2 thereby securing the fourth spot on the league table at the expense of North London giants Arsenal.

The 25-year-old scored a brace for the third game in a row to help Manchester United overcome French champions Paris Saint Germain (PSG) in their Champions League last 16 tie via the away goals rule.

Lukaku scored twice in the first half to give Manchester United a 2-1 lead with Juan Bernat getting the lone strike for PSG.

Marcus Rashford scored a late penalty to give Manchester United a 3-1 win that was enough to secure a last eight spot.

Manchester United lost the first leg at home 2-0 last month.
