Arsenal manager Unai Emery has played down the absence of striker Alexandre Lacazette for the Europa League last 16th tie with French Ligue 1 club Rennes.
French international Lacazette will miss the two legs against the French outfit following his red card from the first leg of the Gunners’ last 32 ties with Belarusian side BATE Borisov.
Alexandre Lacazette was sent off for an elbowing incident in the dying moments of the first leg clash with BATE which ended in a 1-0 defeat to the Gunners.
The ex-Lyon captain was suspended for the second leg as Arsenal overturned the tie to secure a spot in the last 16 of the competition via a 3-0 win in their second leg clash at the Emirates Stadium.
In his pre-match press conference ahead of the Rennes game scheduled for France, Arsenal manager Unai Emery revealed that his team can cope with the absence of the striker.
He also pointed out that the player is gutted to be missing the games against Rennes.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is almost certain to start for the Gunners when they take on Rennes.
Aubameyang missed a late penalty for the Gunners during their 1-1 draw with North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League at the weekend.
