Paris Saint Germain (PSG) forward Neymar has confirmed his desire to play for European champions Real Madrid.
The Brazilian international star made the confirmation during an interview with popular media platform Globo.
Neymar revealed that he would like to play for Real Madrid at one point in his career though he categorically stated that he’s happy at French club PSG.
The 27-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from PSG ahead of this summer’s transfer window with clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester United mentioned.
The latest development will be music to the ears of Real Madrid fans who are keen for the club to sign a quality replacement for ex-talisman Cristiano Ronaldo who left the club for Juventus last summer.
Neymar is one of several players being targeted by Real Madrid as a possible replacement for the aforementioned Ronaldo.
PSG have categorically stated that neither he nor fellow forward Kylian Mbappe is for sale.
Both players have been linked with Champions League holders Real Madrid.
Neymar became the world’s most expensive player in the summer of 2017 after PSG the £200m release clause in his then contract at Spanish champions Barcelona.
