West London outfit Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger has stated that the club boss Maurizio Sarri has benefitted from the 6-0 defeat against Man City in the Premier League tie at the long run.
According to him, the Italian manager learned from the humiliation against the Citizens and was able to apply the lessons in the Fulham 2-1 win at the weekend.
Two goals from newcomer Gonzalo Higuain and Jorginho, coupled with some superb saves were enough for the West London outfit to return to winning ways after weeks of difficulty.
Manager Maurizio Sarri was therefore under pressure as he was speculated to be leaving the club owing to the bad results under his reigns.
However, Antonio Rudiger stated that the former Napoli boss has learned his lessons, noting that there were already discussions in the dressing room after the defeats so as to know where to make amends.
He added that both the players and the manager have now adapted to the new approach and he hopes they get going with more wins until the end of the season.
Meanwhile, the West London outfit are still in the push for a top-four finish as they face competition from Arsenal and Man United.
