Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has given up on forward Alexis Sanchez and his ability to turn his career at the club around.
Rio Ferdinand talked about Alexis Sanchez while he was doing his punditry job on BT Sports.
According to him, Alexis Sanchez won’t rediscover his form at Manchester United after interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer tried everything for the Chilean to get back to his old self.
Since he was given the interim manager’s job at the club in December, Solskjaer has been able to turn the fortunes of Manchester United including its players.
Several players like Paul Pogba, Romelu Lukaku, Marcus Rashford and many more have been able to rediscover their form but Alexis Sanchez has been left out of that category.
Rio Ferdinand believes that Chilean international Alexis Sanchez is a spent force at the highest level as he questioned his ability to perform at the highest level.
Alexis Sanchez joined Manchester United from Arsenal in a swap deal involving Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
The 30-year-old signed a lucrative contract worth close to £500,000 on a weekly basis but his form has not matched that financial status.
Alexis Sanchez has scored just six goals for the Red Devils in over a year having joined the club in January 2018.
