Arsenal legend Robert Pires has called on the club to sign unsettled Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale when the transfer window reopens this summer.
Robert Pires attained legendary status at Arsenal when he played a big role in the team that went through the season unbeaten during the 2003/04 campaign.
The ex-Arsenal winger told Bwin that his former club can move for Welsh international Bale who has been heavily linked with a move back to the Premier League with clubs like Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea.
Gareth Bale has been linked with an exit from Real Madrid in recent weeks after failing to secure a regular spot in the Los Merengues’ starting XI under Santiago Solari despite the exit of former talisman Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ronaldo left for Italian champions Juventus last summer and Gareth Bale was expected to step up and fill the void left by the Portuguese national team skipper but the 29-year-old has not been able to meet that expectation at the club.
Gareth Bale joined Real Madrid from North London club Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2013 for a then world-record fee of £85m.
He has won four Champions League titles and the 2016/17 Spanish La Liga title at Real Madrid since his transfer in 2013.
