Tottenham Hotspur legend Tim Sherwood is adamant that his former club can’t afford a defeat against North London rivals Arsenal when both teams meet on Saturday afternoon.
Arsenal travel the short distance to the Wembley Stadium to face hosts Tottenham Hotspur in what’s their second North London Derby meeting in the Premier League this season.
Tim Sherwood had a successful career at White Hart Lane and also managed the club shortly before current boss Mauricio Pochettino was appointed.
He told TalkSport that Tottenham face the threat of finishing outside the top four if they lose to Arsenal.
Tottenham Hotspur have endured a frustrating week which saw them lose two successive league games against Burnley and Chelsea.
Ashley Barnes scored the winning goal in the last ten minutes to give Burnley a 2-1 win at home to Spurs last weekend before Chelsea defeated them 2-0 at home with second-half goals from Pedro Rodriguez and Kieran Trippier (own goal).
On the other hand, Arsenal will go into the game on the back of three successive league wins over the likes of Huddersfield Town, Southampton and Bournemouth.
The Gunners are in the fourth spot and they have won four of their last five games in the league to move within four points of Tottenham who occupy third spot
