Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku has narrated how he had to wait for the chance to play as a central striker following his match-winning display against Crystal Palace on Wednesday night.
The Belgian international player told MUTV how he waited for the opportunity to play as the Red Devils’ central striker before adding that they were able to silence doubters with their performance against the Eagles at Selhurst Park.
Romelu Lukaku was the star of the show as he scored a brace to lead Manchester United to a 3-1 win at Crystal Palace.
The win was more remarkable due to the fact that Manchester United were missing as many as nine senior players because of one injury or the other.
Romelu Lukaku gave the visitors a first-half lead after a solo run from in-form left-back Luke Shaw before he added his brace in the second half.
Joel Ward pulled one back for Crystal Palace before Manchester United skipper Ashley Young wrapped up the points for Manchester United in the final ten minutes of the game.
The victory ensured that Manchester United sealed an eighth successive away win in all competitions as they move to within one point of fourth-placed Arsenal in the race for Champions League football.
