Arsenal Manager Delighted With Ozil Display vs Bournemouth
Arsenal manager Unai Emery was delighted with the performance of playmaker Mesut Ozil during the Premier League win over Bournemouth on Wednesday night.
Ozil gave a five-star performance as Arsenal thrashed Bournemouth 5-1 to maintain their spot in the top four of the Premier League table.
Speaking after the game, Unai Emery told the BBC that Mesut Ozil is getting better with the team and that the ex-German international is happier now.
Mesut Ozil has struggled to earn the trust of Unai Emery since the Spaniard was appointed the Gunners’ boss last summer.
The German has been dropped from the team on several occasions with reports claiming that the North Londoners are looking to move in on him when the transfer window reopens in the summer.
Mesut Ozil still has over two years left on the new three-year deal he signed at the Emirates Stadium at the start of last year.
He earns £350,000 on a weekly basis as a result of that contract thus making him the highest earner in the history of the club.
It seems he has turned the corner at Arsenal under Unai Emery after his performance against Bournemouth.
He’s in contention to start against Tottenham Hotspur in the North London Derby in their Premier League clash on Saturday.
