North London giants Arsenal are plotting a summer bid for Celtic defender Kieran Tierney according to reports coming out of the media in Scotland.

The Scottish Sun claim that the Gunners are ready to spend as much as £25m to secure the transfer of the highly rated Scottish international left-back at the end of this season.

Kieran Tierney could follow Brendan Rodgers out of Scottish Premiership champions Celtic after the former Liverpool boss left the club to take the vacant managerial job at Premier League club Leicester City.

Brendan Rodgers was confirmed as the Leicester City manager on Tuesday evening and he was in attendance as the Foxes secured their first home league win of the year via a 2-1 win over struggling Brighton and Hove Albion.

Celtic have named former player cum manager Neil Lennon as interim manager until the end of the season.

Kieran Tierney almost joined Everton last summer but the Toffees were priced out of a move for him.

Arsenal have prioritised the left-back position as one of the areas to be strengthened when the transfer window reopens in the summer.

First choice Nacho Monreal recently signed a one-year extension at Arsenal until 2020 but the Spaniard his entering the twilight of his career while back up option Sead Kolasinac is more adept at left wing back.
