West London outfit Chelsea will host their North London rivals Tottenham in a Premier League tie on Wednesday which will not only determine the standing on the clog but will also determine if the Italian boss Maurizio Sarri keeps his job or not.
Following the drama that ensued in Chelsea’s Carabao Cup finals game against Man City, which they lost in the penalty shootout, the fans seem to be furious with the team and there are fears that they could go after some players in the Tottenham clash.
Goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga had publicly disrespected the former Napoli manager by refusing to be substituted in the extra-time of the game. He has already apologized but there are signs that the fans are yet to accept that.
However, manager Maurizio Sarri has called on the fans to keep their support for the team going and not in any way go against his players in the Tottenham game.
Sarri noted the importance of the game to the team, wishing that the players would not be distracted by their own fans.
He said that the fans are already used to winning games but are now feeling disappointed because of the recent performance but they must learn to keep the support going.
