Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay has received high praise from his manager after his performance for the Red Devils in their huge Premier League clash with Liverpool at the Theatre of Dreams on Sunday evening.

The 22-year-old was in superb form as Manchester United player out a goalless draw with their rivals.

After the game, interim Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was full of praise for the Scottish international star whom he described as the new Darren Fletcher.

Ex-Scottish national team midfielder Darren Fletcher played with distinction for Manchester United where he won five Premier League titles.

Scott McTominay was drafted into the Manchester United XI following the injury to Nemanja Matic who has been ruled out for three weeks with an injury.

It was only his fourth start of the game and he helped his team to a valuable point despite the injury woes suffered in the first half of the Premier League encounter.

Manchester United lost Spanish midfielder Ander Herrera to a hamstring problem before his compatriot Juan Manuel Mata followed suit with the same problem.

Mata was replaced by Jesse Lingard who also got injured towards the end of the first half before he was replaced by Chilean international forward Alexis Sanchez.
