Paris Saint Germain (PSG) chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi has played down rumours linking former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger with the Sporting Director role at the club.
Wenger, 68, is without a job after stepping down as the Arsenal manager at the end of last season.
The Frenchman spent almost 22 years in North London having been appointed in 1996.
Since his exit from Arsenal last summer, Wenger has been linked with several jobs including the PSG sporting director role.
Arsene Wenger had a year left on his Arsenal contract before he resigned and was swiftly replaced by Spanish tactician Unai Emery.
Ex-Valencia boss Unai Emery signed a three-year deal until 2021.
PSG supremo Nasser Al-Khelaifi addressed the rumours concerning Wenger in an interview with French media outlet Le Parisien.
He said that he has a good relationship with Wenger before adding that PSG retain the faith in current sporting director Antero Henrique.
Earlier reports had claimed that Wenger met with the PSG chairman and that he could be appointed as the new sporting director in place of Henrique who has an awkward relationship with club manager Thomas Tuchel.
German coach Tuchel has openly criticised the transfer policies at the club to further put Henrique’s position in doubt.
