Former Chelsea and Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has lauded the achievements of ex-Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger whom he described as one of the best managers in the history of football.
The Portuguese coach praised Wenger in an interview with Laureus Sport.
He had earlier congratulated the Frenchman who won the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Laureus Sport Awards earlier this week.
Jose Mourinho also said that he and Wenger were sweet enemies during their time together in the Premier League.
Mourinho and Wenger enjoyed a frosty relationship in the Premier League to the extent that the Portuguese tactician branded the former Arsenal manager ‘Specialist in failure’ while he was the Chelsea manager.
Arsene Wenger left his position as the Arsenal manager at the end of last season after over two decades at the club.
The 68-year-old was made the Arsenal manager in 1996 and he went on to win three Premier League titles and seven FA Cup titles, which is the most by any manager in the history of the competition.
He also led Arsenal to the 2006 Champions League final before they were beaten 2-1 by Spanish giants Barcelona.
His greatest achievement was the Invincibles of the 2003/04 Premier League season as he led the Gunners to an unbeaten run throughout the course of that season.
