Three-time European champions Manchester United have received a double fitness boost ahead of the mammoth Premier League clash with rivals Liverpool.
Manchester United could be boosted by the return of both Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard from their respective injury layoffs.
This is according to the interim Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who gave an injury update on both players during his pre-match press conference on Friday morning ahead of the Premier League meeting scheduled for the Theatre of Dreams on Sunday evening.
Martial and Lingard got injured during the Red Devils’ home clash with French giants Paris Saint Germain (PSG) in the Champions League.
The injuries were crucial for Manchester United as they lost 2-0 to the French capital club in the first leg of their last 16 tie.
Influential midfielder Paul Pogba was also sent off in the dying moments of that PSG game.
French international Martial has enjoyed some sort of renaissance at Manchester United this season and his return would be a massive boost for the Red Devils.
He has scored nine goals and two assists in 20 Premier League appearances this term and he recently signed a new contract to commit his long-term future to the club.
